ICFs are a type of construction that utilizes foam insulation material which serves as both permanent formwork as well as providing insulating properties for the building envelope. Although the origins of ICFs can be traced back to colder climates, today they are used in all types of climates for both residential and commercial construction ranging from small residential structures to large multi-story buildings.
